Have you ever had a dream that you're sleeping peacefully, and then suddenly, in the wee hours of the morning, fireworks start going off? They continue to go off for hours, when suddenly music begins, and it sounds SOOO loud that you're convinced that a marching band is walking right through your house?
You jump to your feet and run to the window only to discover that the band isn't IN your house...but they might as well be! Sure, it's only 7:30am, and the fireworks have been going since before the sun came up. And now there is a LIVELY "casual" brass marching band (young guys with t-shirts and various instruments) walking up the street directly in front of your house.
You want to be upset, because you SHOULD be sleeping. But it's just too funny to be mad...particularly when you're 3 year old comes running out of her room, "Mommy! Daddy! There's music in my window!! Come see! Come see!"
This dream doesn't end...Mexico is just this way, and we have to just laugh it off!
I now understand why the Mexican people take Siestas in the middle of the day...they need to make up for all of the sleep they've missed the previous night!
Ahhh...just like the old days when Dad used to bring his marching band by our house in Smithfield during their early morning practices. Did it make you nostalgic inbetween the feelings of sleep-deprived hilarity?
